Price Breakdown
Making a doily takes 10-60 hours, depending on the size. No machine can make crochet. These doilies are made by hand with much expertise and craftsmanship involved. Yes, you can get doilies very inexpensively, but they are either machine made (not crocheted) or old and in poor condition. If you buy my doilies, you are buying new doilies made fresh, based on antique patterns. The price is not entirely based on time spent working, because that would make them prohibitively expensive. I have based the price on complexity and size.
If you want something using strictly original type materials and blocking methods, that will require an automatic increase of $100 because it takes much longer and takes more care. See the difference between modern remake and original methods of production here. If you want me to find a pattern or learn the pattern you provide, that will also be additional.
