Butterflies are beautiful, so anything with them instantly becomes just a little extra pretty. I made three butterflies, which I intended to be together, but they are wonderful on their own. This one’s a classic filet piece, which means a series of open and closed spaces to create a design. This is from a vintage pattern, probably from the 1980s. Since there were hearts, I chose pink. The border was also my choice. I wanted to create an early Spring feel, maybe with a wink to St. Valentine’s Day.
