This doily was heavily inspired by Disney's "Beauty and the Beast." The choice of doily and colors was very strategic. The castle in the film is gothic, so I looked for gothic features in doilies. The strong lines here, rather than curved delicate ones, made me think of flying buttresses. Additionally, I thought of Belle’s beautiful dress. The layers and full bodied skirt are also shown in the doily. Lastly, I had to have the rose. I put that in the very center. The idea is that the dress circles around the rose. I hope this not only reminds you of Belle but you find it beautiful on its own.
